archetypes in ALTADENA

I'm Meredith and this is my husband, Chris. Two and a half months after we got married (in Altadena), our home burned down in the Eaton Fire.

We got out with our animals and a backpack of belongings, and that was it. Everything else was destroyed. Our neighbors lost everything. Our community was devastated.

This project began as a way to heal from the fire. Viewed from both a survivors' experience as well as viewed through a feminist lens, Archetypes in Altadena aims to re-visualize and re-tell certain mythological narratives, as well as to bring attention, love and care to our community of Altadena as we all rebuild.
